Man of the Match
On Tuesday night Tom & his indoor crciket team played their grand final game. To our great excitement, they actually won receiving some gifts from the centre. The centre also announced that Tom had won "man of the match" for all his efforts in the game and gave him a set of new indoor cricket gloves.
As we were leaving I congratulated Tom on a commando roll he took trying to catch the ball. He then informed me that it was only a move that went wrong that sent him to the ground.
Here's a photo of Tom in his earlier days of cricket.

Minnows - Little fish put back in their little pond
The cricketing minnows were put back in their place last night after losing a nail biter. Tom was injured by a well placed on drive from Simon. Our captain Duncan, demanded that Tom replace the two runs which he had robbed the team by putting myself in the way of the ball. Next week is a bye due to Anzac Day, our triumphant comeback will have to wait.
Tom's Mops - Top of the Bottom
It is with great pleasure, and not an insignificant amount of pride that Tom's Mops has started the latest season of Indoor Cricket at the top of the very bottom, having fought our way into division 5. As the pride of cricket minnows everywhere, we kick off tonight with a game against the Rovers. The ladder looks pretty impressive so far, Tom's Mops are currently 2 from 3 after grading having thrashed several teams that ended up in higher divisions. As usual spectators, and prayers are welcome.
It had to end sometime
Nursing Homers are GOOONEE!
It appears that grading games are a curse for us. This is the second week in a row we have won, this week with an understrength team. The Nursing Homers were looking shakey towards the beginning but came back strongly towards the end.
Once again we promise that it won't happen again.
3 Straight for the Mops
Tom's Mops celebrate the absence of Tom with thier third straight win, a gutsy 65-48 defeat of the NF's.
It came down to the last over, the bonus over, with the NF's needing 3 runs to win. Duncan gets 2 wickets and a runout in the over to score an unlikely win.
Looks like this is the year of the Mop.
Two in a row, that's almost a winning streak
Once again, Tom's Mops have overcome. 186 to 83
Runs! Runs! Runs!
In a fine display of batting and bowling, Tom's Mops were the victors once again, 141 to 31. A crushing blow. It won't happen again.
It had to happen somtime
In a boost to Tom's Mops solid win/loss ratio
(currently a healthy 11%), they pulled off an impressive victory
against the formidable Toey Camels. Next week promises a return
to our true form, we promise we won't win again.
