A Different World
Today I went to my old highschool so say hello to a few of my teachers who have become good friends over the years. I arrived at the front doors to find them all locked. Once let in I went to the office and was told the school is now and will continue to be on complete lockdown. ie: No visitors allowed in and definitely no wandering through the school. It is in response to the shootings earlier this week and I understand the need for security as a result but it was an odd feeling to not even be able to look at the photos on the wall of my graduating class because that was in the off limits area. I was thankful that I was let in for a short time to visit one friend but left reflecting on how much the world has changed in the 11 years since I left school. It definitely is a different world for this small town.
